“As representatives of Newquay Town Council, we are proud to endorse Mavericks Skateparks for their exemplary work in the development and extension of Concrete Waves, our esteemed skatepark facility. Since its opening in 2018, Concrete Waves has emerged as a world-class skatepark, garnering acclaim from both our residents and visitors.
In 2023, thanks to the generous contributions from the Boardmasters Foundation, Cornwall Council, and Newquay Town Council, we embarked on an ambitious extension project to further enhance the park's offerings. Mavericks Skateparks, with whom we had cultivated a strong working relationship, was the natural choice for this endeavour. Their commitment to excellence and professionalism, demonstrated consistently from project inception to completion, was evident at every stage of the process.
The extension project aimed to create a more inclusive environment, catering to beginners while retaining the challenging elements that seasoned skaters appreciate. Mavericks' expertise in skatepark design ensured that the new area seamlessly integrated with the existing facility, offering a diverse range of features to suit all skill levels.
Throughout the project, Mavericks proved to be invaluable partners. Their proactive approach and adept handling of obstacles ensured that the project remained on track, ultimately culminating in a successful and timely completion.
As representatives of Newquay Town Council, we endorse Mavericks Skateparks and would recommend their services to other councils or organisations seeking to develop concrete skatepark facilities.”

The design for Newquay Skatepark has been drawn up to meet the needs of the local wheeled sports community of Newquay and serve as a facility for riders both nationally and internationally. The design and all-inclusive variety of features within the facility will appeal to the wide spectrum of different riding disciplines, age groups and abilities of rider. This style of skatepark is completely unique, it is a statement skatepark facility with a fresh approach to design.
The facility has been carefully organised into four separate areas; a long expansive street run, an internationally significant bowl, a retro-style pool, and stairset. The idea behind the facility is that all the routes around the skatepark link up to form an enormous flowpark when the facility is quiet or separate, independent areas when the park is busy. Segregating the space into different zones, will enable large numbers of people to use the space, at the same time and in a safe manner.
