Thank you and the team for the immense amount of hard work put into this, and the continued support and assistance to this point after 15+ years of battling for our wheels park.””

Portishead Skatepark is finally here! 💪
After years of campaigning, planning, and fundraising, the Portishead Skatepark is finally open at 10am this morning! This is a huge victory for the Portishead community, and we couldn't have done it without the support of everyone involved.
A big thank you to the Portishead Wheels and skatepark project - WASP group for their tireless work on this project. They never gave up on their dream of a skatepark in Portishead, and it's finally a reality.
A big thank you to Portishead Town Council for their support of this project. They saw the value in a skatepark for our community, and they helped make it happen.
We are beyond stoked to have had the opportunity to work on the design and construction of the skatepark. Building a space that is both challenging and fun for all levels.
Huge thanks also to everyone who donated to the Portishead Skatepark fundraising campaign. Your contributions made this project possible.
We're so excited to see the Portishead Skatepark in use. It's a place where people of all ages can come together, have fun, and build community. We hope you'll come check it out!

THE DESIGN
The facility comprises two main areas; The Bowl and Street Course. All routes around the skatepark are designed to link up when the facility is quiet, conversely, they can be used as separate, independent areas when the park is busy. Subtly segregating the space into different zones will enable larger numbers of people to use the space at the same time, safely. The Flow Bowl has been designed to provide a challenging transitional space for more experienced users. The Street Course provides a more welcoming, open area, catering for street skaters and younger, less confident riders. Importantly this facility has not been diluted in terms of features, flowlines and rolling space.
