“I write on behalf of ECC, to express my gratitude to yourself and your highly skilled construction team for the provision of this new, exemplary, skatepark at Pinhoe, Exeter.
Against a fixed-price contract, you initially provided a design proposal that, when subjected to scrutiny by a panel of Council officials and local skaters proved, of the submissions received, to be by far the most popular solution to our requirement; offering a layout suitable for skaters/riders of all ages, from absolute beginner to semi-professionals. Additionally, quoted at a very reasonable cost.
Having been awarded the contract your site surveys were promptly, and accurately carried out and resulting minor adjustments were implemented to the design drawings to suit existing levels before all the detailed engineering drawings were produced to inform construction - all within a 5 week period and in close consultation with ourselves, to ensure the originally accepted design proposal was not compromised. A sufficiently detailed project programme proposing a 14 week site-works duration was then also produced for our information.
Since completion the skatepark has enjoyed high usage and much positive feedback from users. One of your operatives has returned to site twice already to effect remedial works to a couple of minor issues and assured me they will continue looking after, and remediating as necessary, any issues with the finished concrete surfacing which may occur even after the end of the defects liability period.
