THE SITE

The new facility on the Miners’ Welfare Field will replace the one being lost as a result of the construction of the new Forest hospital.

THE DESIGN

Our design comprises three zones which lead users through a progressively more challenging environment.

ou enter into a long street course, reminiscent of a wide street with kerbs, ledges and rails, dropping down to a large quarterpipe which divides the first zone.

In the centre is a wide mini ramp with extensions which splits the design in two, then at the back of the site is the most challenging zone, the flow bowl, which has a number of hips, a small box jump, flyouts and an internal flow bowl, reminiscent of a small pump track.

The whole scheme is very accessible for younger and more inexperienced users and the zoning allows more users to access different areas simultaneously with less chance of collision.

However, there are also numerous transfer possibilities open to more experienced riders who might be lucky enough to have the place to themselves.

This is a unique and highly functional design which would serve as a destination park for the area, could be a great competition venue, and would serve the needs of all wheeled sports users in the community.
