“Churchdown Skatepark has been a great success, much admired by both users and other visitors to Churchdown.
The skaters and BMXers really appreciate the effort made by Maverick and the Parish Council to provide a facility which meets their needs and which they enjoy so much.
The skatepark is actually located a stone’s throw from the Council Offices building, and it is a pleasure to see the many users, of different ages, both local and from afar, interacting and developing their skills. What’s more, the skatepark is surprisingly quiet, even when it is crowded with people.
The Council recently entered a competition run by Action for Market Towns, in respect of projects at Churchdown Park, including the skatepark, and was very pleased to win the Environment and Culture section for the southern region. This demonstrates what an asset the skatepark is to our community.”
